About 30 seconds after walking in to the new restaurant just off of Yafo, in the shuk, I knew I had found my new favorite place. Haba, is a new MEHADRIN restaurant located right by the train and the entrance to the open shuk in Jerusalem. I can’t tell you how happy this new restaurant has made me. Not only is it a good level of kashrus, but the food is AMAZING! I had Torn Pasta that was homemade by a baker in the restaurant. The spread of delicious sweets, treats, and sandwiches was everything a food connoisseur could dream of. I felt like I had been transported to either a European country or a very trendi section of Manhattan.
In addition to the yummy food, the decor reminded me of an upscale cafe where I could sit all day eating pastries and doing work. The best part of the whole place may be the outside seating areas. The first is right on Yafo street where you can watch the bustling traffic. The second, and most spectacular of all, is the inner outside seating area where you are basically right in the middle of all the produce, action, etc of the shuk itself. What a cool place! I hope someone will take me on a date there one day!!
I am beyond impressed with Haba! Thank you to my bestie for introducing me to it. In case anyone was wondering, because I obviously was, they are open until 2 pm erev Shabbos and hopefully in the future they will be open motzei Shabbos as well. Everyone has to go so they’ll open for more hours! Seriously, if you’re in Jerusalem, you have to go try it for yourself. I promise, bli neder, you won’t be sorry! Here are a few more pics of the place. I clearly went a little crazy, but I was really impressed. And it kind of takes a lot to really get me excited so that should say something as well.
